Michael Y.S. Tong was former the Partner-in-Charge of Crowe Malaysia PLT, Sabah. He is an Approved Company Auditor, Licensed Tax Agent and Licensed Liquidator, with over 40 years of extensive experience in both Malaysia and the United Kingdom. Michael was trained in Coopers & Lybrand, which later became one of the founding firm of PwC. He served as a former council member and Sabah branch chairman of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), a role he held for 10 years. In addition, he was the Sabah Branch Chairman of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM).
Michael was the inaugural President of ACCA Sabah and made history as one of the first two Malaysians to serve on the London Council of the International Assembly of ACCA Global.
Michael continues to serve the business and public sectors as a senior advisor and financial consultant. His dedication to community service is evident through his roles as financial advisor, treasurer, and auditor for various NGOs, churches, and charitable organisations. He currently serves as the Diocesan Treasurer of the Sabah Anglican Diocese, an Independent Non-Executive Director of a public listed company and a Board Advisor to the Sabah Young Business & Industry Leaders Network (SYBIL).
